Court summons NDLEA over continued detention of KayCee Luxury

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has summoned the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over the continued detention of socialite Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, popularly known as KayCee Luxury, without formal arraignment.

The court’s order followed an ex parte application filed by Afolabi through his counsel, A. Labi-Lawal, SAN, under the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules, 2009.

The application seeks the court’s intervention in the circumstances surrounding Afolabi’s continued detention by the anti-drug agency without being formally arraigned before a court.

Following the application, the court directed the NDLEA to produce KayCee Luxury before it.

The development comes as the socialite challenges the legality of his continued detention and seeks the enforcement of his fundamental rights.
